Beef Stroganoff

This well known dish originates from the largest country on Earth - Russia! What kind of blog would this be if the Stroganoff Beef wouldn't be an ornament on it. It is a great pleasure to prepare this meal, not only for the commendation from my family and the special taste, I really enjoyed the simplicity of the popular dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs of row beef in steaks
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • a pinch of pepper
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 tbsp of flour
  • 1 tsp of Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup of white wine
  • 1/2 lb of sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup of sour cream

Method
Cut the beef in stripes and fry it on the buttered pan quickly. Take it out from the pan as it turns brownish and put the sliced onion in the pan and saute it for a couple of minutes. Add the sliced mushrooms in the pan with onions and cook it for 5 minutes. Put the meat back to the pan with mushrooms and add the mustard, salt, pepper and the flour. Stir it well and add the white wine.

Cover the pan and let it simmer for at least 10 minutes. Stir it frequently and at the end add the sour cream. Take it off the heat and leave it to rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Serve the Beef Stroganoff on noodles of your choice.
