Turkish Buns

I wanted to make a breakfast for everybody to remember for a long time...I have traveled through the internet blogs and sites on three languages and stumbled upon a great recipe! A fresh smell of bakery filled my kitchen in no time. As I have a little baby, the recipe had to be short and the method quick. Time was on my side! Baby was asleep and I was eager to feel the taste of the new recipe. I will share this experience with you because it's worth it.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1/2 cup of yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of oil
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tbsp of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp of fresh yeast
  • 1 tbsp of baking powder
  • 4 cups of flour
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1 egg white
Method
Put the milk, yogurt and the sour cream in the bowl and heat it until it's lukewarm, add the yeast, sugar and a few tbsp of flour. Leave it for a few minutes until it starts bubbling.

Add  salt, oil, baking powder and flour and knead the dough until it stops sticking to your fingers.

Divide the dough into fist size balls and as you have finished the first one is ready to be rolled out in a shape of egg.

Cream it with melted butter and cut in stripes but not all the way...leave the stripes together - like on the pic. Roll the stripes in from one side and scroll in to form a bun. OK, just follow the pictures :-) Not hard at all!

Cream the buns with egg white and sprinkle with salt and sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven on 400 F degrees for 25  minutes or as long as the buns turn golden.
