Flourless Cake Bars

Do you like nuts and chocolate combination in cakes? Off course! Who doesn't? I have made these bars for New Years Eve...just to put something sweet and delicious on the table. It came out like the best cake ever. A little bit chewy and melts quickly like a winter ice cream, leaving pecans to boost your energy up. It's not too complicated to make but it's worth every minute of your time.

Ingredients for the cake

  • 6 egg whites
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of grated and crushed pecans

Ingredients for the cream

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of crushed chocolate
Method
Mix the egg whites until firm, then add sugar and mix until the sugar almost melts. Stir in the pecans slowly and pour the batter into the baking pan covered with baking paper. Put it in the preheated oven on 375 F degrees for 25 minutes.
In the meanwhile, mix the egg yolks with sugar until it becomes white, add the chocolate and cook it on steam for about 15 minutes (more or less). Leave it to cool. Mix the butter until fluffy and add it in the egg yolks.
Cut the cake in two and cream the both cakes with the chocolate cream. Assemble the cake and leave it in a cold place for an hour or two.
