Devil's Food Cake with Tartarate



Well known Devil's food cake enriched with tartarate, can always make your day. One of these after lunch will fulfill the meal you had. Don't forget to put the remaining cake slices in the refigerator to keep them fresh until next serving.



For this Devil's food cake you will need:
  • 1 cup of butter and some additional butter for greasing the pan
  • 90g chocolate bar
  • 1 cup of hot water
  • 300g of light muscovado sugar
  • 3 eggs, stir it
  • 300g of smooth flour
  • 1.5 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of sour cream

American mince:
  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 4 tablespoons of hot water
  • a little bit of tartarate
  • 3 round pans 8 inch in diameter

Let's try to make it!

1 Grease the pans and cover them with baking paper.

2 Chocolate and water put into a bowl and stir it on a warm burner until chocolate melts and leave it to cool down.

3 Beat sugar and butter until it gets foamy. Add eggs one by one and beat it well.

4 Add the melted chocolate to foamy butter and slowly add the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Stir it well with  sour cream and vanilla extract.

5 Divide the mixture evenly in pans and bake them in preheated oven on 190C (380F) for 25 minutes until it grows and becomes spongy.

6 When you take out the cakes from oven, peal of the baking paper and leave them to cool down.

7 Make the American mince: Stir all the ingredients  in the bowl and put it into another bowl with hot water and mix it until it becomes white and firmly. Approximately for 12 minutes.

8 Half of the cream apply on the cakes to attach the 3 cakes, and the rest apply on the top and side of the cake.
