Stuffed Cottage Cheese Buns

I had an hour and a half to make something salty, goes with beer and turns out enough for everybody! Oh, yeah, the game was on TV so the guys were coming to watch it. I have found this recipe on the back of the newspaper, as I had no time to search for more - had all the ingredients, good mood and the beer, off course! No, beer was not for me, just for the guys :-) So, I have made these salty cottage cheese buns stuffed with ham and cheese which melted and melted...mmm :-)

Ingredients for the dough

  • 2 cups full of cottage cheese
  • 8 tbsp of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 10 tbsp of oil
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 3 tsp of baking powder
  • 2 tsp of salt

Method
Put all the ingredients in the bowl and stir them with the spoon until you get creamy dough and then knead the dough for a few minutes more, adding a bit of flour occasionally. Leave the dough to rest for a few minutes and than roll it out on the surface. Cut 3-4 inches squares and stuff them with anything you like (I have stuffed them with ham and hard cheese) and roll the squares in and close the both sides using your fingertips to stick the dough in. Cream the buns with a little bit of milk and put them in the pan covered with baking paper. Preheat the oven on 400 F degrees and bake the buns for 15 minutes.
