This is the cake I make very often. It's fast to prepare and delicious homemade dessert. When I get tired of all those puddings and heavy creamed cakes with strong tastes this one comes like a lite refreshment. A moisty cake and this white vanilla cream with chocolate ganache for the topping together make an unforgettable and the most beautiful cake :-) melting in your mouth like an ice cream - you don't have to wait for summer to tryout this cake.. don't waste a second more...do it now!
Ingredients for the cake
- 6 eggs
- 6 tbsp of sugar
- 4 tbsp of oil
- 4 tbsp of cocoa
- 4 tbsp of flour
Method
Divide egg whites from egg yolks. Mix the egg whites with sugar, add the egg yolks and all the other ingredients. Stir it slowly, with patience.
Bake the cake in the hot oven for approximately 10 minutes. In the meanwhile, make the syrup out of a cup of water and 2 tbsp of sugar. Take the cake out of the oven and pour the syrup on it while it's still hot. Leave it to cool down and make the cream.
- 4 tbsp of flour
- 5 tbsp of sugar
- 3 cups of milk
- a cup of butter - unsalted
- a cup of confectioners sugar
Ingredients for the cream
Method
Mix the sugar with the flour and some milk to make a smooth liquid. Pour it in a boiling milk and stir it until it gets creamy. Cool it down and add the butter mixed with confectioners sugar. Mix until it's smooth, soft and fluffy :-) and yummy.
Pour the white cream over the cake and make chocolate ganache for the topping.

When the Ice Cube Cake is done put it in the cool place until you get the urge to taste it. Believe me, it will be soon. There is something bad with this cake..it is so lite and mild tasted that I don't know when to stop eating it. It always asks for more and more :-)
