Doughnuts are always on my son's wish list. Doughnuts with apricot jam or with Nutella or with cinnamon and powder sugar or with chocolate cream, vanilla custard, or you name it... so practical dessert for every occasion. It takes less than an hour for the dough and a few more minutes to serve it with anything you have at home.
The ingredients for the dough
- 2 cups of warm milk
- 2 tsp of yeast
- 2 tbsp of sugar
- 2 tsp of salt
- 4 cups of flour ( or as much as the dough takes )
- 4 tbsp of oil
Method
Put the yeast in the bowl with sugar, 1 cup of warm milk and some flour...stir it an leave it for 5 minutes to bubble. Pour in the rest of the milk, flour and salt into the bowl with yeast and kneed the dough for a few minutes. Add the oil at the end and leave the dough to rest and double itself for half an hour. Roll out the dough on the surface and cut circles out of it. Leave the circle shaped dough to rest while the oil is warming up. Take the circled dough in your hands and stuck your finger in the middle to make the dough thinner in the middle and fry it in hot oil.
