All Tiramisu cakes are almost the same...creamy, cheesy and amazingly tasteful! If you use Mascarpone cheese or cultured butter...or you use ladyfingers instead of homemade cookies or cake... the score you're getting is even :-) The taste is specific and refreshing, so if you are trying it for the first time be prepared for the cake that tastes like no cake you have eaten before. Very easy to make and the looks you get is extraordinary!
Ingredients
- 40 Ladyfingers cookies
- 1 cup of Mascarpone cheese (or cultured butter)
- 1 cup of whipping base
- 4 cups of milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 vanilla pudding powder
- 5 tsp of instant coffee (I used Nescafe original)
- 5 tbsp + 5 tsp of sugar
- 3 tbsp of Rum
- 1 bag of whipping cream powder (40g)
- 2 tbsp of cocoa for decoration
MethodTake 20 Ladyfingers cookies and soak in warm mixture of 2 cups of milk, 5 tsp of sugar, 3tbsp of Rum and 5 tsp of Nescafe. Assemble the cookies on the plate and make the cream. Cook the vanilla pudding in 2 cups of milk with 5 tbsp of sugar and cool it down (stirring occasionally).
Beat in the whipping base in another bowl. Beat in the egg yolks with Mascarpone cheese, vanilla pudding and at the end add the whipping base. Mix all together until you get a fluffy and smooth cream. Pour half of the cream on the soaked Ladyfingers, soak the remaining 20 Ladyfingers and put them on the cream. Pour the remaining cream and cover it with whipped cream.
Every Tiramisu has to be sprinkled with cocoa so this one is too. :-)
