Oven Baked Doughnuts

I have used the same dough like for the doughnuts fried in a deep oil, but it came out so different. This one was baked in a muffin pan and it's not that greasy at all. Crusty outside, soft and bubbly inside...I love doughnuts!
The cherry filling is perfect for such doughnuts...so refreshing and appetizing.

The ingredients for the dough

  • 2 cups of warm milk
  • 2 tsp of yeast
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • 2 tsp of salt
  • 4 cups of flour ( or as much as the dough takes )
  • 4 tbsp of oil
Method
Put the yeast in the bowl with sugar, 1 cup of warm milk and some flour...stir it an leave it for 5 minutes to bubble. Pour in the rest of the milk, flour and salt into the bowl with yeast and kneed the dough for a few minutes. Add the oil at the end and leave the dough to rest and double itself for half an hour. Roll out the dough on the surface and cut circles out of it. Leave the circle shaped dough to rest.

Arrange dough circles into the greased muffin pan and push your thumb in the middle of every doughnut. Put the doughnuts into the preheated oven on 400 F degrees and bake until they get nice brownish color.

You can cream these doughnuts with Nutella or Cherry filling or just sprinkle them with sugar and cinnamon...you won't spoil the doughnuts satisfaction.
