Chinese Chicken Drumsticks

My ideas for the dinner party often come too late, so I'm always in a hurry. This time, believe it or not, I have prepared the recipes a week before for this event. Pork is on the menu every time we meet with my family and I needed a little chicken touch. :-) This recipe is well known all over the world but as I do with all my recipes I've changed it a bit. :-) Now this recipe is more like Rosvitha's chinese chicken drumsticks.

Mac and cheese (with a little sprinkle of bacon)

There is so many varieties of this dish so I bring you one of mine. Of course, the tastiest one. :-) You need time just for cooking the macaronis or pasta (any sort you like) and in the meanwhile prepare the sauce. This is a quick lunch and the lunch that you can bring to work. The best thing is that you know exactly what it consists of. The others will be jealous and will ask for the recipe from you. Let this recipe be the trigger to new ideas for this meal, so give your own recipe!

Cinnamon Roll Muffins

Mmm, so sticky and sweet irresistible cinnamon rolls. When they came out of the oven, the kitchen was already filled with cinnamon aroma and my son couldn't resist so he took one roll and started eating it right away. Don't ask me how he looked like! :-) Well, I love those roll muffins just like the ones with jam or nutella or my favorite pecan rolls. I won't tell you that it's easy to make, just follow the steps and treat yourself with these wonderful muffin bites!

Flourless Cake Bars

Do you like nuts and chocolate combination in cakes? Off course! Who doesn't? I have made these bars for New Years Eve...just to put something sweet and delicious on the table. It came out like the best cake ever. A little bit chewy and melts quickly like a winter ice cream, leaving pecans to boost your energy up. It's not too complicated to make but it's worth every minute of your time.

Bundt Cake - Panettone

I really like the combination of chocolate, nuts and dried fruits. In this cake, I have found that perfect mixture coated with shiny chocolate glaze. Sometimes, this cake is called Panettone cake or Gugelhupf cake, depends of the origin you're coming from. Perfectly moist, melts in your mouth and leaves small delicious parts to chew with pleasure. I have often read in recipes that all those fruits must be chopped roughly, but if you chop them finely, tastes combine better so the pleasure is complete. I have to admit that this is a simple cake to make if you have enough time for chopping all those fruits, chocolate and nuts you have prepared. So, start chopping and bake this cake to indulge yourself.

St.Lucia Buns - Saffron Buns and Cheesy Buns

With these buns I would be dragging a parallel between cultures. In my area, Lucia buns are called Luca buns and more like without saffron... :-) We use cheese and salt instead, and they have a different meaning. Those eye shaped Lucia buns are sweet and all about illuminating the day which is the shortest day in the year. The other ones are salty and served to relatives - for the living and for those who passed away. The nickel in the bun brings the richer upcoming year for the one who finds it.

Bell Pepper Peperonata

If you adore peppers just as I do, you will love this extra simple, a few ingredient dish. This is only a basic peperonata which can be enriched with a lot of seasoning or by adding onions, garlic, eggplant or 1-2 eggs to make a delicious and light meal. If you like it chili, use one tiny chili pepper to indulge yourself. Serving this delicious meal comes with mood... I was in a mood for chicken nuggets in a shape of a dinosaur. My son was so happy - for the dinosaurs - off course! :-)

Beef Stroganoff

This well known dish originates from the largest country on Earth - Russia! What kind of blog would this be if the Stroganoff Beef wouldn't be an ornament on it. It is a great pleasure to prepare this meal, not only for the commendation from my family and the special taste, I really enjoyed the simplicity of the popular dish.

Turkish Buns

I wanted to make a breakfast for everybody to remember for a long time...I have traveled through the internet blogs and sites on three languages and stumbled upon a great recipe! A fresh smell of bakery filled my kitchen in no time. As I have a little baby, the recipe had to be short and the method quick. Time was on my side! Baby was asleep and I was eager to feel the taste of the new recipe. I will share this experience with you because it's worth it.

Greek Semolina Cake with Plum Filling

Greeks certainly know how to make a delicious dessert. This one is an ordinary variation enriched with fresh and homemade plum filling. I have made it so soft and tender, i couldn't believe either. I served it after lunch, as a dessert and it was amazing for everyone. I have collected only nice comments.:-)

Hot Bread Pizza Cups

I woke up in the morning with a wish to bake little pizza cups. It's very interesting for kids, since it's small, tasty  and crusty little sandwich. So, I didn't leave it on a wish, I made it happen. I was almost done when my son woke up and asked me what that delicious smell is. I took out the muffin pan out of the oven and my son was amazed. He couldn't wait for cups to cool... breakfast was already gone. :-)

Oven Baked Doughnuts

I have used the same dough like for the doughnuts fried in a deep oil, but it came out so different. This one was baked in a muffin pan and it's not that greasy at all. Crusty outside, soft and bubbly inside...I love doughnuts!
The cherry filling is perfect for such doughnuts...so refreshing and appetizing.

Pork Paprikash

Paprikash is a one pot meal similar to goulash but with potatoes in it. Usually made with chicken meat, but this time I used pork meat to indulge my son's wish. He likes baby sized cubes of meat and potatoes but the original Pork Paprikash requires a bit larger shaped ingredients. It's easy to adapt to such a small bites meal...so sophisticated. :-)

Strawberry Filling

I had an idea for making a delicious strawberry filling cake, but first the filling had to be made. It's nothing spectacular, just an ordinary fruit filling. I don't like to buy it in a store, because homemade is always the best! Fresh, nice and domestic strawberries were there on my table. Why wouldn't I make my own strawberry filling?

Shepherd's Pie

This meat pie or casserole - also called Cottage Pie is very easy to make. It has a long history. Since the name of this pie is Shepherd's Pie, the lamb meat is necessary. There are a lot of people who aren't very fond of that kind of meat, but if some other meat is used the name of the pie must be changed...or we can be liberal and use any meat that we have at home :-)

A Glass of Baileys Pudding

For grown ups only dessert won my respect a few years ago. I don't drink but Baileys is one of a kind, especially in dessert. Nicely combines with chocolate, nuts or whipped cream and the taste is extraordinary. Try it out and serve it to your friends just to see the positive outcome!

Vegan Spring Soup

This lite soup is made of spring vegetables that I could find on the market. Very easy to make and healthy. No fat at all and dairy products were avoided. Nice and mild taste prepares you for an upcoming meal. My stomach is extremely grateful for this treat - hope that your will be too.

Homemade Cherry Pie Filling

The cherry season has just started and I have a lot cherries in my garden. Good thing about it is that everyone in my family loves cherries in all sorts and variations on the table. When you have a lot, you need to figure out how to store them in order to be used through the whole year. My pattern is to put them in a deep freezer and deal with them as necessary. Off course, all of them pitted out...yes, a lot of work but it's much easier later.

Fan Sliced Hot Dog

This interesting snack can easily be your breakfast or a picnic meal. Any sort of dough can be used to wrap the sausage in... and don't forget to serve it with a dipping sauce. Mustard is my favorite, but there are still people who hate it and choose ketchup over it.

Strawberry Cheesecake Phyllo Cups

This is not an ordinary cheesecake recipe... it's the one with semolina. Nevertheless, baked sweet cottage cheese is the food worth craving for. This time I used strawberries to bring some spring into this sweet phyllo basket. I'm thinking about some other fruits, to make a mix in this attractive dessert cup - it would be awesome.
